Welcome to 2022 Blues fans!

We are so excited to be back playing the game we’ve all grown to love and are keen to see your beautiful faces on a regular basis over the coming months. With an all new committee, we can assure you all members are working tirelessly behind the scenes with so much passion to bring you a smooth and enjoyable season. For the first edition on Blues News for 2022, we’d like to formally introduce our new President, David O’Hanlon and Vice President, Lori Conroy.

David, also very well known as ‘Owey’ is thrilled to be welcoming many new faces to the committee this year. He hopes to support our juniors to grow, by supporting the growth of all players particularly our locals to help build on our club culture, and longevity of our club. With many positive changes and new faces around the grounds, David hopes to lay a solid foundation that will see the club move forward next year and well into the future. We caught up with David where he reflected on his new role and his life at the club:
“For inspiration, I don’t look up to any one person in particular, rather get to know a person by listening to their ‘highs and lows’, drawing inspiration from that. I hope I am an inspiration to others, and to those who I’m yet to meet. The BFNC is a huge part of my life, having been involved in the club for almost 30 years, I love everything about the place. A favourite memory of mine if playing alongside my good friend ‘Wattsy’, kicking 18 goals between us against our rival club, Gordon. The day that AFL great Campbell Brown played a game for Ballan is also up there, I’ve never seen a crowd like it at club! Hopefully my favourite memories are yet to come by winning premierships, seeing our local kids play sport to the highest level possible, and the club being a place everyone can call home.”

Lori is really looking forward to working with the new committee. You might know Lori from her massive fundraising efforts at the club in previous years and around the Ballan community. Lori is keen to support the junior club, seeing where we can take the club, with new facilities on the horizon. Her first item on the fundraising agenda is to secure a new football scoreboard! In her role as Vice President Lori will be a friendly face to all club and family members, providing support where required.

A very popular topic around the Blues camp recently is the commencement of our much anticipated redevelopment. With demolition commencing underway, we’re working hard to ensure the 2022 playing season progresses smoothly with minor interruptions and will keep all players and members as up to date as possible as the year progresses.
