B GRADE
Ballan 41 def Carngham 22
C GRADE
Ballan 44 def Carngham 16
A cold and wet forecast didn’t deter the B grade girls from pulling out an impressive game against Carngham-Linton. It was up on onwards throughout the whole game, with the girls capitalising on most turnovers and ensuring they built upon their lead. Maddie Alcock was consistent all game, with coach Laura Parsons asserting herself up both ends of the court with a best on performance. The connection that is building within this team is strong and positive. Ballan winners against Carngham-Linton, 41-22. Another difficult day for our A grade side this week against Carngham-Linton. With a number of injuries and illnesses diminishing our list of available players, the girls put together a strong second half. The team remains optimistic that their efforts are improving week to week and hope to share in some success in the near future. Carngham-Linton 55 defeated Ballan 30.
C grade this week played another great game against Carnham-Linton showcasing their great teamwork in continuously working the ball down the court and into the goal circle, where Bec Owen shooting accuracy ensured Ballan held the lead through out the game.
JUNIOR NETBALL
17 & UNDER
Ballan 22 def Carngham 13
Our U17’s were ready to take on one of the top teams in the league. From the very first centre pass our defence got an intercept which was rewarded by our shooters. The girls got a well deserved confidence boost from this start which lead to a strong 1st quarter. From there the game plan was to learn from previous games when the score is tight. The girls aimed to keep building on their small lead. They showed resilience, strength and determination throughout the whole game earning themselves their first win 22-13. Every single team member executed their role on court regardless of position and played as a team. This young side is something to watch out for incoming weeks and years.
15 & UNDER
Carngham 22 def Ballan 16
The girls were faced with cold and slippery conditions for their match against Carngham- Linton. This week they started off well and managed to get an early lead despite a few girls missing and a few positional changes. As the game wore on the other team were able to settle and put the pressure on our goalers. As a result, scoring opportunities dried up and we were unable to score as freely as we had at the start of the match. Positional changes in the last quarter released the shackles and we started to score more easily, but the deficit was too great. Special mention goes to Niahm who continues to add to her great defensive efforts each week and Tahlia Jamieson from the under 17s who filled in for us again and did a fantastic job.
13A & UNDER
Carngham 27 def Ballan 10
Ballan played outstanding against Carngham Linton, Clover played excellent in goals, adapting to new position and giving 100%. Ruby Sims also adapted well with Clover in goals, and played outstanding. Sophie, Dee and Alice work very hard to shut down Linton attack and we unfortunately lost but the aim was to work hard to play our own game and not lose by as much as other teams have been, which we succeeded in.
13B & UNDER
Ballan try really hard against Linton, it was a difficult game. Maggie, Milly Conroy and Victoria played excellent in defense and Eden our best on for the day played really good in wing defense. Ballan lost to Linton in end.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Our senior boys came out of the blocks really well kicking 5 first quarter goals to secure a nice lead. Austin Bongart received a yellow card and as heavy rain started to fall, Carngham mounted a challenge. Ryan Bongart was everywhere and continued his great form. Daniel Nielsen and Lachlan Conlan were solid down the back and Matt Smith-Bye didn’t stop the pressure all day. It was great to see hear the song finally sung by our seniors, taking home the win!
RESERVES FOOTBALL
Reserves started off slow however Ben Kennedy, Ryan Borg and Zac Price got to work after the first break and didn’t look back. Seb Smith and Anthony Curtis played great games and it was fantastic to get another win on the board!
It was great to get a win on the board in our Reserves side! It was a great team effort with every person doing there part, our back six were solid and shut down nearly every opportunity that the Beaufort forwards presented. Mitch Thompson worked the centre line back and forth with both helping the backline and attacking the goals in the forward line booting 2 goals, Jack Bidwell in only his third senior age game controlled the football well around the field, Matt White dominated the opposing ruckman and gave the Blues the first use of the ball out of the stoppages. Tristan Batten and Justin Fenwick were important players in the forward line as well as Aiden McPherson kicking 3 goals on the run which gave the best chance of victory over the crows. Big shout out to the U18s filling in on call week by week, they are part of reason for getting our side on the track, your help and commitment is appreciated!
Bless em all!

UNDER 18s
Our u18s had a tough day on their hands from the start with many players missing, again with the help of the 15s players stepping up to fill some positions the match went ahead, coming up against many bigger bodies our boys tried hard all day. There was some good ball movement from our back half with Jock Mauriks and Jim Gorman and again through the midfield with Kobayne, Lucas and Tom. Coach John Mullane mentioned it’s been a tough start to the season but there is some real talent here and some dedicated individuals. While it’s not easy for the boys, they will benefit from it in the long run and keep these tough days in the memory bank to help them improve in future. With a bye and no game over the next two weeks the boys will re group and hit the back half of the season head on. Congratulations also goes to Tom Cox making the CHFL inter league team for 2022!
UNDER 15s
The Under 15s had a very convincing 153-point win over Carngham Linton. Noah Pace kicked 12 goals in a best on ground performance, while James Mullane had another very good game in the midfield. It was the team’s best performance for the season and they now sit on top of the CHFL ladder. Congratulations to our under 15 players – James Mullane, Clancy Matheson, Jed Anglin, Sarah Burton and Logan Monterosso – who played CHFL interleague on Sunday against Colac.
UNDER 12s
The team came out strong and had a convincing win over Carngham this week, the freezing cold weather proving to be no issue! Coach Harley said they boys were so excited, and are having so much fun on the field each week and it’s great to see.
